A review of oculoplastic surgery and ocular surface disorders

Background: Ocular surface health is closely related to the condition of ocular adnexa, particularly eyelids. Both adnexal disorders and oculoplastic procedures performed treat them can cause (OSD). In this review, we aimed summarize relationship between OSD.
 Methods: narrative an electronic search PubMed/MEDLINE database was conducted using various combinations keywords including “oculoplastic surgery,” “ocular disorders,” “dry eye,” “management,” without time or language limitations, include studies concerning surgery Results: We included articles involving OSD with discussions preventive approaches management strategies in context. For a systematic approach, preoperative assessments postoperative treatment patients were retrieved summarized. Preoperative measures evaluation tear film break-up time, osmolarity, meniscus area height measurement by anterior segment optic coherence tomography, lipid layer thickness interferometer, corneal staining Oxford Scheme, Schirmer test, blink rate completeness, disease index scoring, eyelid closure, Bell’s phenomenon.
